FAMILY CHALLENGE 6TH MAY:  27 families did battle at our Family Challenge on Sunday afternoon, 6th May, at Talus Street.  It was wonderful to have some new families, as well as our 'regulars' and especially great to have Matthew Clark playing after a considerable break from tennis of about 15 years!  We hope that you had enough fun to take up tennis again, Matt!  We enjoyed an afternoon tea of a sausage sizzle, donuts and cupcakes which fortified everyone for a full afternoon of tennis.  For full results, click here    NEXT FAMILY CHALLENGE:  SUNDAY 19TH AUGUST 2012     (Pictured:  the Chye family)

2012 Guardian Funerals NSTA Championships:  After 5 Sundays of play, Finals Day was held on 25th March at Talus Street and the finals did not disappoint.  There were many long and ardous matches, commencing at 8am with probably one of the best matches of the day - A5 Mens Doubles when Rhys Jones & Henry Stabback defeated Michael Kelly & Victor Kerr 4-6 6-4 7-5.  Michael & Victor got away to a flying start, leading the first set 4 nil, but finally the 2 x 13 year olds worked out that patience and perseverance was what was needed, running out the winners in just under 3 hours.  Congratulations to all our winners and runners up (click here), particularly our Open Singles Champions, Melissa Anderson and Brodie Stewart.  Thanks to all NSTA Committee members who helped out on the day and in particular to the wonderful ball kids who did a great job.  And of course our sincere thanks and appreciation to our very generous and supportive sponsor, Guardian Funerals.
